Over the Ancient Livithra in Leptokarya and on the way up to Karya we can
observe a unique phenomenon. The law of gravity in a reverse way. Cars
rolling up instead of down in the hill.
It is also worth visiting the old village of St. Panteleimonas, Platamon,
Litohoro, and to go hiking on Mt Olympus.
The Castle of Platamon on the southeastern slopes of Olympus. The castle
was originally built by the Byzantines and was reworked by the Franks at the
beginning of the 13th century. Today it has been restored and hosts concerts
and other cultural events.
You can also visit the archaeological site of Dion and Vergina as well as St.
Paraskevi in Tempi.
From Leptokarya you can easily go to Thessaloniki, Katerini and with daily
excursions to Meteora, Pilio, the lake of plastira and Edessa.
